SimplifyCompliance owns the copyright for all text, graphics, and other content on the BLR.com, HR Hero, Employers Counsel Network, HR Laws, TrainingToday, and M. Lee Smith Publishers websites.

SimplifyCompliance provides the free information on these sites to be read by anyone, and the password-protected information to be read by subscribers to our newsletters or other customers who have paid to have access to the information. M. Lee Smith Publishers, a BLR brand, retains the copyright on all text and graphics. To use this information in any other way, you must strictly adhere to the following guidelines.

Reprinting or Redistributing Materials
We strive to provide you with valuable information, and you may want to share it with others. We consider that a compliment, and we'll try to work with you to let it happen. But at the same time, we have to protect our copyrighted work from unauthorized distribution.

Photocopies
Photocopying one of our articles, newsletters, or other publications is strictly prohibited without written permission.

Printouts
Multiple printouts of a web page, PDF file, or other electronic publication is also prohibited without written permission. For example, you'd need permission to distribute copies to coworkers or hand them out in a meeting, training session, or classroom.

One printout of a web page. You don't need permission to print out a web page or e-mail message for your own use or to share with one other person.

E-mail
Forwarding the e-mail newsletters. We're glad to have you forward our e-mail newsletters in their entirety. Be sure not to delete or change any of the text without permission.

E-mailing a link. You're welcome to send your friends or co-workers a link that will take them to an article in the free area of HRhero.com or Employment Law Post.

Do not share links to the Subscribers Area of HRhero.com. The links to these articles will include "/lc" or your user name or password.

E-mailing an article. Except as described above, you need our permission before you e-mail one of our articles, newsletters, or other publications to anyone else. This includes individual articles as well as the Employment Law Letter. This restriction applies to individual e-mail messages as well as listservs, e-mail groups, news groups, web-based forums, intranets, and any other electronic medium.

Your company newsletter, etc.
You need our permission to include one of our articles in a company newsletter, training material, memo, or any other document or publication. To ask permission, send an e-mail to service@blr.com. Please specify which article you'd like to use and explain what you'd like to do with it.

Your website
Using one of our articles.You need our prior permission to put the text of any article from HRhero.com, or any of our print or online publications on your website, intranet, database, discussion board, or any other system.

Linking to HRhero.com on your website. On your website or intranet, you're welcome to link to any article in the free area of HRhero.com as long as you don't frame our web page. (A frame means putting additional graphics or text above or next to our web page.)

  • If you want to use a framed link, you can request permission at the e-mail address below.
     
  • Linking to the Subscribers Area of HRhero.com is strictly prohibited. The links to these articles will include "/lc" or a user name or password.
